PROFILE OF PASTOR PATIENCE UMO ENO, WIFE OF AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNOR

Pastor Patience Umo Eno, the Wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor and Initiator of the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA), was born on Monday February 20, 1967, in the ancient city of Ibadan, Oyo State, to Mr Friday John Ekong Inyang of Ikot Akpa Ekop, Ikpa Ibom Clan and his wife Justina of Esa Ekpo, Ibiaku clan both of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor Patience Eno who is the first child of her parents, attended Eleja Primary School Surulere in Lagos State, where she obtained her First School Leaving Certificate before proceeding to the Idi Araba High School in Lagos State where she served as the Assembly Prefect.

Her interest in sewing – a skill she picked up from her mother took her to a highly rated Fashion Design school, Picean Fashions Institute, Ikeja Lagos for a Diploma, after which she left for the Valor Christian College, Columbus, Ohio, USA, for a degree in Pastoral Leadership. She played an influential role on the Board of Directors of the Royalty Group, a leading brand in hospitality and catering services in Akwa Ibom State.

Pastor Patience Eno has been involved in several start-ups and has together with her husband, Pastor Umo Eno grown their hospitality business from 5 rooms to a conglomerate with over 5 subsidiaries providing services to several clientele including IOCs and oil servicing companies. She has served as Executive Director in different capacities – Facility Management, Procurement, Hotel Management, Control and Food Hygiene in the Royalty Group.

Her business interest spans through hospitality, catering and allied services. She is also the Managing Director of Modern Stitches Ltd, a fashion designing outfit. As a Pastor in All Nations Christian Ministry International, together with her husband for more than two decades, Pastor Patience is the Women’s Leader and Advisor for the Women of Faith Fellowship and has worked in serving God and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ as well as touching lives and reaching out to people with the love of Christ.

She is a Patron of the African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), a Grand patron of African Women Entrepreneurship Programme (AWEP), Grand Matron of Akwa Ibom State Business Community (AIBC) and other organizations. Her Excellency, Patience Eno has juggled several roles as a Wife, Mother, Business Executive and Pastor who has displayed a high level of creative and technical abilities in addressing challenges and delivering on all her expected goals.

Her love for humanity and supportive role as the Wife of the Governor and First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, has earned her numerous accolades including the Phoebe Award, Honorary member of AWEP Nigeria and Beacon of Hope Business Community Award. Pastor Patience Eno loves solving problems and seeing people achieve something they never thought possible.

In the build up to the emergence of her dear husband, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno as the PDP Gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Patience Eno’s swift defence of her husband with the popular “Golden Boy” mantra won the hearts of Akwa Ibom people and led to his success at the 2023 polls as the fifth democratically elected Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Their union is blessed with children and grandchildren.
